## Frequently asked questions

### Playing

**Q. How do I play?**  
A. Two ways. Local puts two people on one device. Online matches you with someone you don't know. Pick one from the home screen.

**Q. How long is a match?**  
A. There's no set number of rounds. Tap the X in the top left whenever you want to stop, and the results up to that point appear. A tie is replayed and does not count as a round.

**Q. I don't want to answer this question**  
A. Tap Pass. There's no limit on how many times you can use it.

**Q. I don't like the question cards I drew**  
A. Tap Draw again. There's no limit. You can also skip the cards and ask your own question.

**Q. How many questions are there?**  
A. 125. All of them were written for this app.

### Local

**Q. How do the two of us hold the phone?**  
A. Put it on a table and sit facing each other. The screen splits in two, and the top half is turned so the person across from you can read it.

**Q. My opponent can see which throw I'm picking**  
A. You're both looking at the same screen, so yes, they can if they look. **Cover the screen with your hand while you choose.** The order of rock, paper and scissors is shuffled every round, so they can't read your throw from where you tapped.

**Q. How do I give my answer?**  
A. Out loud. Local play has no text field. Tap Answered when you're done.

**Q. Is the match recorded?**  
A. No. It disappears when you close the screen.

### Online

**Q. What can my opponent see?**  
A. **Only your nickname.** We don't collect your age or gender. Since you choose the nickname freely, don't put your real name or contact details in it.

**Q. Why is there no countdown on the throw?**  
A. Your throw isn't sent as-is. Only a computed code goes first, and the contents are revealed once both are in. **Playing first doesn't let the other person see it**, so there's no need to throw at the same moment. Take your time.

**Q. My opponent isn't throwing**  
A. After a while with no activity the match ends. Tap Find someone else for a new opponent.

**Q. Is there a time limit on answering?**  
A. Thirty seconds to pick a question, sixty seconds to answer. If time runs out it moves on automatically.

**Q. I got "Couldn't send"**  
A. The text was judged to contain something objectionable and was stopped. It did not reach the other player. Try rephrasing.

**Q. I want to play the same person again**  
A. Tap Play them again on the results screen. It starts once they tap it too.

**Q. Is the match recorded?**  
A. No. Nothing is stored on our servers or on your device.

### Safety

**Q. I ran into someone unpleasant**  
A. Tap the "…" in the top right of the match screen and choose Report or Block. You're under no obligation to continue. End it right away if you want.

**Q. What happens when I report someone?**  
A. Only the last few minutes of that match reach us. Nothing else is visible to anyone. Players reported by several different people automatically lose access to online play.

**Q. I want to unblock someone**  
A. Since everything is anonymous, no name is kept. Contact us at the address above if you'd like a block removed.

**Q. What age is this for?**  
A. Thirteen and over. The first time you open the online mode we ask you to read the house rules and accept the terms of service. We don't ask for your age itself.

### Other

**Q. Can I remove the ads?**  
A. There's no purchase to remove them. Ads are the only revenue behind the app.

**Q. Why was I asked about tracking?**  
A. It's used to make the ads more relevant. **Everything works whether you allow it or not.** You can change it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

**Q. Can I carry my data to a new phone?**  
A. **No.** This is an anonymous app with no email registration, and the account is created per device. There isn't much to carry over, though — you'd only lose your nickname.

**Q. Can I play offline?**  
A. Local play does no networking at all. It works in airplane mode.
