## Rock Paper Question — Privacy Policy

This describes how Rock Paper Question (the App) handles personal information.

## What we don't collect

The App does not collect any of the following.

- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your address
- Your location
- Photos (there is no upload feature at all)
- Contacts, camera or microphone (no feature uses them)

## Playing locally

Local play, where two people share one device, **does no networking at all.**

The questions ship with the App, and nothing from the match leaves the device.
The record of the match disappears when you close the screen and is not stored.

## Playing online

Online play, against someone you don't know, involves the following.

- An anonymous identifier issued per device
- Your nickname, which you choose freely
- Only when a report is made, the last few minutes of that exchange

**We do not collect your age or gender.** We never ask for your year of birth.

## What other users can see

The player you are matched with sees **only your nickname**.

Since you choose it freely, do not enter your real name or contact details.

## How questions and answers are handled

Questions and answers sent online pass through our server on their way to the
other device, but **they are not stored there** — the server only relays them.

No record of the match is kept on your device either. It disappears when you
close the screen.

## Blocking

The anonymous identifier of a player you block is stored on your device. It is
sent to the server each time you connect so that you are never matched with
them again, but the server does not store it.

## Advertising

The App shows ads, served by Google LLC (AdMob).

On first launch we ask for tracking permission. Only if you allow it is your
device's advertising identifier (IDFA) used to optimise ads.
**Every feature of the App works whether you allow it or not.**

## Sharing with third parties

We do not sell or provide the information we collect to third parties, except
where disclosure is required by law.

## Third-party services

- **Google LLC (Firebase Authentication)** — issuing anonymous accounts
- **Fly.io, Inc.** — running the server that relays questions and answers
- **Google LLC (AdMob)** — serving ads

## Deletion

Deleting the App from your device erases everything stored on it, including
your nickname and your block list.

If you want the anonymous account itself deleted, contact us at the address below.

However, **exchanges recorded through a report are kept for a limited period**
so that we can act on them and prevent repeats (up to one year).

Note that accounts are created per device and no email address is registered.
They therefore cannot be carried over when you change devices or reinstall, and
we cannot restore them.

## Age

The App is intended for users aged 13 and over. The first time you use the
online features you are asked to accept the terms of service. We do not ask
for your age itself.

## Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy in response to changes in the law or in the service.
